a) Grab a rag with some dish soap and scrub the spots.
b) Mix a little bleach with some water and dab it on the spots.
c) Have the dog lick up the spots…that’s good enough.
d) Scrape up what you can with a butter knife or spatula, wipe up the excess gently with a paper towel or white cloth, apply some hydrogen peroxide to the spots, and gently dab. Repeat until the spots clean up.
e) Crawl into a corner and cry.
f) Call Signature Carpet Care!
Well, the answer doesn’t always have to be “f”, but it should NEVER be “a”, “b”, “or c”. Hopefully not "e" either. ;) NEVER use bleach or any cleaners that contain bleach in them on your carpet or upholstery. Even the color-safe bleach can bleach your valuable carpet and upholstery. The other thing that people tend to do is scrub the spots. That is another no-no for your carpet. By scrubbing, you are damaging the carpet fibers. Always blot the spot on the carpet and always use a white cloth so as to avoid any color transfer from a colored towel. You can get a little more aggressive with spots on upholstery. So, try "d" above and if that doesn't work give us a call. Improper treatment can permanently set spots and spills, so always feel free to contact us with any questions on how to handle a certain situation!
